I was privileged to be born into a pastor’s home, and my parents, Todd and Terri Lasseter, were so faithful to teach me the Scripture and to model the beliefs they taught. I had the benefit of growing up at Trinity Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas, under the leadership of Pastor Bob W. Smith.
Although I was exposed to the Gospel hundreds of times, it wasn’t until I was 14 years old that I finally called out to God for salvation. Jesus Christ changed my life!
Shortly after my salvation, God began to work on my heart about serving Him through full-time ministry. With a desire to follow God’s call and gain excellent training, I attended Heartland Baptist Bible College in Oklahoma City, OK. It was during my time at HBBC that God used a testimony from Bro. W.L. Smith concerning Tasmania to burden my heart for Gospel workers on this island.
After graduation, my family and I moved to Amarillo, TX, to join the Arden Road Baptist Church staff. I’m so excited about the desire and vision that God has given our family to extend the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the island of Tasmania.
What a joy to be able to say that I was raised in a Christian home! As a military family, we moved around quite a bit; however, God was always faithful to move us close enough to a God-honoring church. During my childhood, we lived in Manhattan, Kansas where we attended Faith Baptist Church under the leadership of David Byford. It was at the age of five that I completely understood the Gospel message and called upon Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Savior. Shortly after, God moved us to Fritch, Texas, where I was privileged to serve at Faith Baptist Church under Pastor Don Rice. Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to serve the Lord with my life, but I didn’t know exactly what that would look like for me.
In 2011, I moved from Fritch to Oklahoma City and enrolled at Heartland Baptist Bible College. I strove to serve Him whole-heartedly in various ministries throughout my entire time at Bible College until I knew exactly what God wanted me to do.
After God allowed Micah and me to get married, He began to work on both of our hearts concerning the area of international missions, specifically the island of Tasmania. Although I have a wild mission field of five boys already living within my own walls, I’m excited and honored to expand that mission field so that the island of Tasmania can know the freedom through Christ.
